Happy Thanksgiving from
Carpenter Creek Winery!
The harvest is in and the sweaters are out as we kick off another chilly holiday season here at Carpenter Creek Winery. With salmon now spawning in the creek and evening temperatures dropping below freezing we are happy to finally slow down a bit, and enjoy a nice glass of red wine with family.
Tara has the tasting room all decked out for the Holidays and her Christmas tree is incredible, as always. (Special thanks to Vivian Elvebak and Kathi Williams for their help decorating) Once again we are following the old German tradition 'hiding the Christmas Pickle' this year. As the story goes, parents would hide a decorative pickle ornament on the tree and on Christmas morning the children would search for it knowing there was an extra special present waiting for the one who found it. We have also hidden a glass pickle ornament somewhere on our Christmas tree and if you can find it, you too will recieve a special prize! So c'mon, we dare you! :)
'Tis the season for helping our neighbors in need.
As we celebrate with friends and family this Holiday season we realize that there are many in our communities who are not as fortunate as we are. Sometimes even the smallest gestures go a long way to helping people have a Merry Christmas so this year we are making an all out push to get involved and do what we can in our community.
This is where we need your support!
We are announcing three unique ways to help those less fortunate this season.
In our tasting room from now until December 20th we'll have a giving tree for you to decorate with donations! Buy an ornament and hang it on the tree. It is that simple. Donations can be in any amount. Just write in your contribution and hang your ornament on the tree. 100% of funds raised will go to the Skagit Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center.
We are also holding a canned food drive to benefit the Skagit Food Bank, and a Toys-for-Tots drive.
Best of all, bring any unopened toy(s) or canned food products worth $20 or more, or purchase a Giving Tree ornament for at least $20 and receive 50% off any wine purchase!
Three ways for everyone to help out and 100% of the proceeds go to charity. Best of all, your support will stay in the community so you can directly help your neighbors while saving a bunch on wine for your Holiday table. What could be better than that?
